New favorite tool/toy -but mostly tool- in the Enos home.
GOOGLE TRANSLATE
You type text into the box and it translates as you go.
We have used it to go from Spanish to English when the kids bring home a note from school.
We have used it to go from English to Spanish when we are trying to get specific information (like banking) across.
“But Camille, aren’t you using your Spanish frequently?”
“Yes! But sometimes it is very important to be sure of having accurate information. Plus, Mikee likes how fast it is. And we only use it at home. When we are out -we’re on our own baby.”
It’s a lot better than our old standard way to use the dictionary to look up individual words. The dictionary is not too helpful with verb conjugations and it messes with the continuity of the thought process.

PS- has anyone used a program for learning another language that worked great? I am looking to help the kiddos Spanish come along a little faster.

I use Google translate daily! It’s invaluable for my watchtower comments. But of course it isn’t in Lao, only Thai. So, I then have to translate again into Lao (they are close). But for grammar it is great! Usually!
For example a Thai friend left me this message in Thai: กำลังดัดผมร้านแฮร์เบียร์ใกล้ปากซอยบ้านเกม หิวโซมาก – Google Translate – Hair curling is beer near the corner of Soi home game much starving. I give up!
And, it might be time to burn the couch.

Hey I use this at work all the time, not that anyone with a foreign language ever calls, but its good to keep on my toes you never know.
