THE RIDE TO/FROM SCHOOL -THURSDAY

Thursday we saw…

…lots of pretty trees in bloom.  Not sure the official names but they sure are a delight to look at.

…and we were behind trucks with huge pipes for a gas line that is being installed over the mountain.

…and the cardboard recycle truck

…and Mikee and I did our banking trip.  It took us 40 minutes today to deposit a couple checks (Mikee went in while I drove around because there is no parking) not counting the 30 minute drive each direction. it’s not terrible but just requires a bit of planning.

What did you see today?

Hola! The purple trees are Jacarandas (The J is pronounced like and H). Chad calls the yellow trees “Pot of Gold”, but I don’t know if that is their official name.
Thursday Chad and I saw a man pouring gas into his car. The container he used for the gas was a water gerafone. Hope he doens’t turn it back in to the water company for someone else to use!
We laughed – after 4 and 1/2 years, we still see things that we haven’t seen before and that make us LOL!!!

    Hi –
The purple trees are called jacarandas. We have them here in Florida but don’t see them too often this far north in Daytona Beach.
We have been keeping in touch with your mom and dad, Camille, re: your grandfather. As soon as your dad called me, I went to the hospital to find out what the story was. A brother in his congregation who is on the Hospital Liaison Committee was already there with his wife. Then after Grandpa left the hospital, he went to Ormond In The Pines, a nursing home/rehab facility and the improvement from the first time I saw him was AMAZING. He could stand up and wanted us to see him walk with his walker but we didn’t think that was such a good idea without a nurse there. His right side which is the one affected is so much improved, as is his speech. He told me to squeeze his hand and he squeezed back with a really strong grip.
We keep in touch with Grandpa Norman and he is coming down to Florida after tax season and is staying with us for a few days on his way down to Lake Worth, Delray Beach, and other places south of us. He stops and sees Bill’s aunt Mary who just turned 91. He and Aunt used to go out in service all the time and they can sit and reminesce for hours. Bill’s sister Marge Morritt is also there in Delray Beach and they all visit together.
We’re so glad to FINALLY be able to be in touch with you and enjoy reading and seeing all the details. By the way, Jackson is going to be 12 on March 29. Ben is 37 (I think) on March 23. Who ever thought we’d be this old in this system? Camille, I ask your mom and dad that every time we speak.
    Love, Arlene and Byron

Arlene -what a treat to hear from you! Thank you for your time and attention with Grandad the Great. Grampy Norm is looking forward to seeing you too. Jackson and Austin are the same age. The good thing is that even though all these kids grow up around you -you stay the same! Thanks for your comments. Enjoy the blog. xoxo…cami

Michael, I know a brother, our field service overseer, who is a mason and can do the 6 bricks at a time thing but don’t have a picture.
