I was driving down the road…
(just a pause to say, have you counted how many of our stories start with this line?)
So, I was driving down the road and just a bit ahead I saw a police truck with lights flashing. When you see police you pay attention. It’s not necessary to be nervous -just alert.
Side note: this is as I am driving on the carretera (main road) which is a super busy traffic road.
What is that bright shiny red behind the police truck?
A circus truck! Not just a truck but an entire circus parade!!!
I pulled over to a spot on the side of the road and caught this video. At one point the police truck turned around right behind me. I thought he might be trying to get me to move, but he was just making way for the rest of the circus parade. These trucks with trailers behind just u-turned in the middle of a very busy street with buses and trucks and cars passing by. One spot of the video is a little bumpy as I tried to get out of the way, but check out the view in my mirror.
Each truck has it’s own blaring loud speaker but you can’t understand any of it.
I was behind this parade as it made it’s way through town traveling about 10 miles per hour.
In it’s aftermath are tourists on the side of the road with their cameras out and smiles on their faces –because, honestly, how often are you treated to a circus parade just a couple feet away?
The cutest thing are the faces on the adorable little chiquitos (little kids). One doorway had 5 little kiddos –all smiles and jumping up and down and excited.
(Camille, why don’t you have a picture of this?, you say. Well, at this point I am driving in bumper to bumper traffic and to try to grab the picture while driving in this with people right next to the car would just be too dangerous -even though I really really wanted to snap this picture.)
We always see something every single time we drive that my habit is to just keep my camera our and ready -although sometimes I don’t catch everything.
