Have you ever been interrupted by something?
Perhaps you were about to go camping but then it rained. Or maybe you invited friends over to watch a football game but the power went out. Well, WE got an interruption that fell in love with us. Let me explain.
It was the day we were leaving on our family trip to Puerto Vallarta. (POR-tah Vi- arta) We had just finished packing the car full of clothes, beach towels, Dad’s computer stuff, and boogey boards. Mom went to the neighbor’s house to give them our phone numbers and came back with a black, stray puppy that FELL IN LOVE WITH HER. The puppy was at her leg, scratching and whimpering. We had a problem.
Mom is at the bottom of the driveway saying What do I do? Of course the puppy heads up the drive way because he’s tired of sniffing Mom so he goes up the driveway and sniffs us.
The girls are in the car, and Kitty can’t get ENOUGH of this.
“Why?s the doggy here?”
“It LOVES us!”
“It doesn’t have a collar!”
“Mom, it doesn’t have a collar!”
“Why doesn’t it have a collar?”
“Why doesn’t it?”
“It doesn’t have a owner?”
“Can we keep it?”
“But it doesn’t have a collar!”
“See, it has no collar so we can keep it!”
“But I really wanna keep it!”
“I LOVE it!”
Mom distracted the puppy away so Dad could back the car out. The only problem now was getting away so we could relax by the beach without running over this cute little black ball of fur.
It went by so fast. Dad brought the puppy a good 40 feet away, and then ran like the wind to the car. He jumped into his seat, started the engine, and whizzed us down that street. Believe it or not, the puppy RAN AFTER US. We got about half a mile from home before his little legs finally gave out. Now it was time for vacation fun! (With a few hours of driving first)
The puppy WAS cute, but I hope it never happens again.
