WOW! THAT WAS A YEAR AGO

What were you doing last year at this time?  Do you remember?  Has it been a good year?

One year ago we packed our family into the car and drove 3500 miles from Rhode Island/Massachusetts to Ajijic/Lake Chapala, Mexico.

Our journey was physical.  Many of our very dear friends have had emotional journeys this past year.  Some highlights.  But for such a lot of very special people it’s been a difficult year.  (you know who you are and we LOVE LOVE LOVE you)

This past year feels like several lifetimes.  And we are not alone.

“Time and unforseen occurance befall us all.”

Since there is so much uncertainty about life make the most of each day you have.  Live without regrets.  Make opportunities to be a force for good.  We all have them but sometimes we have to train ourselves to see them.  Then, even when dealing with adversity, you can take comfort in knowing that you always did your best.

This year has forever changed my children’s lives!  They have been able to reach inside themselves and see how many opportunities lay ahead of them and how they can conquer fears that may have otherwise held them back and that no matter where in the world you are there are people who will always be close in your heart and that new friends can be made not to replace the old but to add to the beauty of life.

Do we recommend this experience to others?  YES!  Is it possible for everyone?  NO.

It’s not always about leaving where you are but just making sure that each day has purpose and you get to show kindness and be a “real life” experience of life well lived.

Who knows where we will all be next year?  😉

The start of last year's road trip. (the kids were so little)

One year later.

What excellent reminders! It’s so true. Where does the time go but disappear into thin air and what are we left with? The hope that being the best we can for each other will help make the the tough times a wee bit more bearable. Thank you for the introspective reflections. Love you lots and lots and lots.

Two people were in my class from Mike’s brother’s congregation in Clayton! Isn’t that wild!!! I also found out that we are assigned to the same District Convention in Raleigh in August. So I will be on the look out to meet more from the Enos Family!!!
