UP SINCE 4:30am -YAWN

Mikee safely made it into the US.

We were up this morning at 4:30 am to bring him to Guadalajara airport.  It looks so nice in there right now.  Everything in and around Guad is getting ready for the PanAm games this month.  I am curious to see what kinds of crowds come and how many of them make their way to Lake Chapala for the watersports here.  Also, I am curious to see how many of the projects started (like roads and buildings) get finished in time.  We see a lot of construction that is just midway through.
Funny thing about driving in to Guad… It’s not a difficult drive.  Pretty much a straight shot around the lake and through the mountains on into the city.  The airport is BEFORE the city, which makes things easier.
Anyway, there is a sign for the airport that says straight and then all of a sudden is the right turn exit, but it’s not marked.  A mile up the road is a returno (u turn) because so many people miss the exit.  You might think it would make more sense to put up a sign.  But that’s not how things work here.
Mikee has my camera.  GASP!  How we are going to survive is beyond me.  But we will try.  🙂
Cue music to Tricia Yearwood’s How Do I Live Without You?
Just this morning our road was blocked by… a poor woman going through people’s trash, 3 dogs who think they own the road and like to lay in the middle of it, and 2 trucks stopped in the middle just visiting.  Oh, and one of the trucks was about a 1 1/2 ton size (not a dump truck because it’s cheaper to pay people to shovel in and out of it) with 4 guys in the seat and another guy riding on the hood in front.  The other truck was a 20 something year old purple little Datsun pickup truck with really high sides ( like 6 feet) and a cement mixer and 2 guys sitting balanced on the top bars of the sides.
This might not sound like much to you but it’s part of our daily life.  We enjoy seeing things that just catch our attention and have been keeping a photo kind of journal.

Yea! So glad that Mike made it out. Now I don’t have to “worry” about those 4 packages anymore.
