This picture was taken just a bit ago.
What a nice day. Full of all the normal daily activities that keep us hopping from sun-up to sun-down -but with a couple perks.
We enjoyed a relaxing dinner with some new friends who just moved here from Panama.
After they left we were clearing the table -because we eat outside every single evening. And then our little tribe of 5 sat down to enjoy the clear night sky.
Each evening the first luminary we see is Venus across the lake peaking up behind the mountains. So clear. So distinctive.
I wish there was some way to show you all how bright and numerous the stars are against the clear black sky here. I just takes my breath away.
We have fallen into the habit of ending up out on our terrace in the evening as the stars come out -and just gazing at the twinkly show.
Well, this evening as we looked up we saw …falling stars.
Wow!
(there are not really words to put in how much just watching something so beautiful feels. peace. awe. a bond to our Creator. the priceless sharing of that with my little family. a treasure.)

That’s awesome! (In the literal sense) It reminds me of a meteor shower that Danielle and I witnessed about 10 years ago. We got up at 4 am to view a shower that lasted a looong time. It was in December and we were prepared on that cold New England night with hot tea , blankets and lawn chairs. It was a once in a lifetime thing that I’m glad I didn’t miss!

The one thing I really miss about living in the city is being able to clearly see the sky and the stars. I was able to see some stars yesterday when I hit my head! I now have a nice goose egg on my forehead! Those are not the stars I recommend seeing.
What a great thing to do as you end your day.These memories will be with you forever and the best part is that you get to share them as a family. I’ll always treasure those memories with my Dad. He had a telescope and we often viewed the stars up close and were always amazed at the meteor showers or when we witnessed an aurora borealis. Jehovah’s wonders never cease and the best part is that they are free.
