Spirit of St Louis, Hope Diamond & Other Treasures Of The Smithsonian (by India)

I have never been to Washington DC before.  I was mostly looking forward to visiting the Smithsonian.

We decided to visit the Museum of Natural History and Air & Space.

I am sorry we did not get any pictures of the Hope Diamond but it wasn’t as exciting as I thought it would be.

My favorite thing was walking into the Air & Space Museum and the first thing I saw was the “Spirit of St Louis” plane that Charles Lindbergh flew from New York to Paris.  I read about this trip and I was so excited to see the plane.

The SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS

I liked this

The first official DC building we saw

Walking to the Museum of Natural Histroy

I like the details on the buildings

Do you remember this guy in the movie Night in the Museum 2?

Look how huge the moose is

How did they get the animals to pose like this?

Ginger Kitty says this is her kitty cousin

My favorite animal -the cheetah

Look out!

It's Perry the Platypus

AAAHHHHH...

I think my friend Renee's shell is even prettier than this one

He has such tiny hands

Can we bring him home to be our pet? PLEEEASE

This meteorite is all iron inside

No wonder the meteorite we held at Renee's house was so heavy

Close up detail

The colors are super bright

I love the color on this one too

Not only is it pretty, it's huge!

This building is so large that big things (like the elephant) look small

Look closely. Can you spot us in this picture?

Here we are!

"The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination"

I love the sun and the airplane in this photo

This sculpture looks like a real tree

How do you see this optical illusion? Facing in or facing out?

The First Amendment

We were s.t.a.r.v.i.n.g!

My future car

Museum of Air & Space

Going inside a rocket

If this thing takes off, we're toast

Notice there is no front window

Me and Ginger Kitty are tired

Her future job -flight attendant

This is a fancy uniform

Austin in front of the USS Enterprise -his favorite thing he saw

...until he got to touch an actual piece of the moon!

There is no way we could really tell you everything we saw.

And, there is no way we could really see everything that was there.

But I had a good time and I would like to go back someday.

I love DC, George and I should go down, he has never been, you have to give us where to go, I know he would love the enterprise for sure. I love the gems and the rocks, that was my favorite.
