SNOW FOR THE CIRCUIT ASSEMBLY? -NEVER!

This weekend many of our friends and family are traveling to Natick, Massachusetts for their circuit assembly.  This is a special weekend that happens once each year.  For some reason, our weekend is usually accompanied by a snow storm.

Guess what?

Just got off the phone with my dad and they had a safe but long and slippery ride home and are waiting to see what effect the weather will have on tomorrow’s program.

Our little Enos family spent some time reminiscing about one year…

They were so little ::sniff sniff::

The snow fell all day on Saturday resulting in a ride home that took hours and once we made it safely to our house we could not get our van up the long, steep, curving driveway that already had 8 inches of snow.  There was talk of cancelling or delaying the Sunday program.  Why was this of special interest to us?  Mikee was the chairman and I had a part and we had little kiddos at the time.  We did end up having the program and we were up and ready way before the sun to allow plenty of time to safely make it.  There were friends from the local congregations that spent the night and all day long shoveling out the parking lot and keep the cars cleaned.  How nice was that?  I love that our kiddos have already such a supply of life experiences.

All you who are driving, please travel safely.

I remember that weekend. We had to wait for a 5:30am call Sunday morning to know whether or not the Sunday program would go on. Then we had to walk through 8 inches of snow to the van and make it up the hill. It was an excellent program. What a shame that more than half the circuit missed out that day. 🙁

I remember that year, but the one that REALLY stands out in my memory is when I drove home in an ice storm in my van with my 3 girls sitting in the way back to give me some weight. I white knuckled it all the way home…praying. When we FINALLY got home I wanted to get down and kiss the driveway!
Oh…by the way, I parked at the bottom of the driveway last night…just in case.; )

When I was a little girl we went to Natick Assembly Hall as well. I don’t remember going in snow storms but I do remember my sister was baptized there, also my Grampa. My interest in sign language started at that Assembly Hall, too. Good memories!
