IMG_7583_600w IMG_7593_600wLast night we had a house full of guests.  That is a truly enjoyable way to spend an evening.

On Saturday, a friend asked if we could use our home to have a couple people over -which turned into 40 people!!!

I do love having people over.  Life is so fast paced that it is a treat to sit and share food and conversation with nice folks.

There were people from the US, Mexico, Canada, Germany and Sweden.  Some we know and some that are visiting the area.

There was not a lot of time or energy to figure out the meal so I thought it would be a fun treat to do tacos -American style.

Do you know that taco seasoning (like the Old El Paso stuff) is impossible to find here in Mexico?  When we visit the “fancy country” (our code for trips to the US)  we pick up a bunch of packets to bring back with us.  Actually, those were my last envelopes.

We have such a variety of delicious local taco eateries we enjoy.  Still, every once in a while it’s fun to pull out a (coveted) packet of US taco seasoning and some ground beef.

Everyone pitched in and brought something -fresh tortillas, guacamole, salsa, cheese.  You know, all the fun fixings.

The girls had fun doing gymnastics on the fabric in the palapa by the pool.

Check out DIY taco seasoning recipes. It is basically cumin, garlic, onion, salt, pepper and any type of heat (cayenne or flakes or whatever you prefer). 😉
