BACK IN THE USA…

We made it back into the US.  It was much easier crossing the border this time.  First of all, no disastrous flooding.  Secondly, we crossed at a different location.

Columbia International Bridge.

It’s about a 20 mile drive up the road but totally worth it.  What a smooth, clean place to cross.  No hassle.  No searching for the correct building.

WE RECOMMEND NOT MAKING THIS DRIVE. FLYING IS MUCH EASIER! BUT IF YOU MUST, THIS IS THE PLACE TO CROSS THE BORDER.

We left Saltillo and were cranking out the miles.

We were running low on pesos and gas but figured we had enough of each to cross into Texas.  Just enough.  The equivalent of $12 and about 60 miles of gas.  (oh, and of course, we all needed a potty break)

Smoothly into Texas -pretty view but no gas station for miles and miles and miles.

Once into the US there is a big border control stop run by homeland security.  It’s kind of a big deal with lots of scary looking soldiers with scary looking weapons.  Since we weren’t smuggling any illegal people or drugs or weapons -we did ok.

Saw this sign at the truck stop, bathroom, gas, and food place.
